In a busy city centre, three restaurants can each dominate a different corner of the same square. Point spacing is fully configurable down to street-level distances, so a scan can show which specific block a restaurant owns instead of averaging it away across a radius that's too wide to mean anything.

"Italian restaurant", "sushi near me" and "brunch" can return three different map packs at the same coordinate. Why a restaurant’s ranking changes block by block
A restaurant’s Google Maps visibility is about as hyperlocal as local search gets. Someone deciding where to eat right now is almost always standing within a few hundred metres of their eventual choice, which means the map pack they see is decided by which corner they’re on — not by some citywide average. A restaurant that looks strong from one check outside its own door can be entirely absent from the pack two streets away, where a different restaurant with a similar cuisine or price point takes the top three spots instead.
That’s why a restaurant’s grid needs to be tighter than most other verticals: a small point spacing across a 7×7 or 9×9 grid can separate one side of a square from the other, which a wider grid built for, say, a law firm’s metro-wide catchment would simply average away. Running that grid separately for each search term that matters — the cuisine, the occasion, the dish — shows which one the restaurant already wins on and which one a competitor a hundred metres away is quietly taking.

We're in a dense city centre — how tight should the grid be?
Tighter than most verticals. Use a smaller point spacing across a 7×7 or 9×9 grid so the scan can distinguish between corners of the same square instead of blending them into one average.
Can I track different cuisines or dishes as separate keywords?
Yes — run a separate scan per search term ("pizza", "sushi", "vegan restaurant"...). They routinely return different map packs at the exact same address, so tracking them as one ranking hides which one is actually working.
We have multiple locations that get mixed up online all the time — can SeoMap tell them apart?
Yes. Each location is matched to its Google listing by CID/Place-ID rather than name, so two branches of the same brand — or two unrelated restaurants with a similar name — never get confused in a scan.
Does this cover delivery-style searches, or just walk-in?
It covers whatever the searcher typed and where they were standing when they typed it — including delivery-intent queries. What it shows is the same Google Maps map pack a real customer would see from that coordinate, for that search.
